The Carolina Forest Panthers opened their season with an impressive 33-7
win against Socastee Friday night. The Panters scored on their first
five possessions and tailback Mark Timmons scored four touchdowns and
set the school record for rushing yards in a game after reaching 203
yards on 21 carries.
Socastee scored their only touchdown late in the second quarter on a Chase Holcombe one yard dive into the endzone to cut the Panters' lead to 20-7. Socastee was held to 165 rushing yards on 44 carries.
