The annual Fourth of July boat parade took place yesterday afternoon in Murrells Inlet.

The weather was perfect for spectators and boaters during the Independence Day Boat Parade along the Marshwalk.  This year's theme was Freedom Is Fine In 2009.  Held at high tide, the parade began shortly after 5 p.m.

A variety of boats participated in the annual event.  Numerous patriotic-themed boats sailed through inlet waters along with Batman, Star Wars, and The Jackson Five themed boats.
