The 59th Annual Sun Festival took place Friday & Saturday, June 4th & 5th at Grand Park.

This year's Sun Fun Festival featured a variety of vendors, food booths, a kids zone area, free concerts, and celebrity meet and greets.  Celebrities at the festival included Kim Zimmer from the soap opera Guiding Light, former wrestler Rik Flair, and Booboo Stewart of The Twilight Saga.

A free concert is scheduled for Saturday evening at 8 p.m. featuring Uncle Kracker, followed by a fireworks display.

Sun Fun Festival activities continue next Saturday, June 12th with the Surfside Beach Super Saturday event.  The event will take place from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on the beach from the Surfside Pier to 2nd Avenue South and will feature a variety of arts & crafts vendors and food booths.  Earlier in the day on the beach, the town of Surfside Beach will have areas set up for volleyball, horseshoes, corn hole, and more.
