Riverfest 2009 Celebrated In Conway

Fourth of July celebrations arrived early today in Conway with the town's annual Riverfest event.

The Conway Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Riverfest in historic downtown Conway along the Waccamaw River Saturday, June 27th in celebration of July 4th.

The festivities began at 3 p.m. and continued until 11 p.m.  Activities at Riverfest included a bass fishing tournament, kayak races, a boat parade, homemade riverboat races, and more.  Live entertainment included Brad Long, Southern Blue, Doug McCormick, The Too Tight Band, Jessie Rice, and Russell & Kristi Johnson. Visitors shopped in the Artisans' Market located under the Waccamaw Memorial Bridge while children of all ages enjoyed inflatables, pony rides, games, and more in the playground area of the festival.
