The new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk celebrated its official Grand Opening, Saturday, May 15th at Noon along the new boardwalk.

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce staff, Myrtle Beach City Council, and Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes all particpated in the Grand Opening ceremonies surrounding the new boardwalk.  A portion of the boardwalk opened ahead of schedule in April.  Today, the entire 1.2 mile stretch of boardwalk was opened to the Myrtle Beach community.

Celebrity guest Buddy Valastro from TLC's The Cake Boss sat in on the ceremony and was available for a free meet and greet after the ceremony.

Other activities surrounding the ribbon-cutting included a Beach Music Festival, featuring performances from several beach music artists, including Jim Quick & Coastline, Billy Scott & The Prophets, and Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs.
