Taste of Pawleys
The fourth annual Taste of Pawleys food festival took place Sunday, April 25th at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawleys Island.
The annual event featured a variety of food samplings from 19 local Pawleys Island restaurants. Restaurants present at the event included Quigley's Pint & Plate, Hanser House, Hog Heaven, Island Bar & Grill, Bistro 217, and Chocolate & Coffee House.
Each year, Taste of Pawleys raises money for different charities. The beneficiaries of this year's event were Father Pat's Lunch Kitchen and Friendship Place. Both organizations are local food kitchens. Father Pat's Kitchen was launched with proceeds from the first Taste of Pawleys event and is open Wednesdays & Thursdays for lunch and Saturdays for breakfast. Since it opened in 2007, the kitchen has served over 16,000 meals.
Friendship Place works to help the needy of Georgetown County. The non-profit organization serves hot meals six days a week and offers job training and temporary emergency shelters for the homeless.
