Myrtle Beach Bike Week

The 69th Annual Myrtle Beach Bike Week will take place May 8th - May 17th throughout Murrell’s Inlet, North Myrtle Beach, and other areas of Horry County. Over 300,000 bikers will make their way to South Carolina to celebrate Bike Week along the Grand Strand.

Due to new ordinances passed by the city of Myrtle Beach, no Bike Week events will take place inside the city limits of Myrtle Beach.

New City of Myrtle Beach Ordinances

A total of 15 new ordinances were passed which will affect bikers planning on entering the city of Myrtle Beach during Bike Week 2009. All bikers planning on riding through Myrtle Beach or staying in Myrtle Beach must adhere to all of the new ordinances. The following are some of the new ordinances that will affect bikers inside the Myrtle Beach city limits.

• All bikers must wear a helmet & protective eyewear
• No more than two bikes can be parked in one parking space
• No loud mufflers, no revving of engines, and no excessive noise will be allowed
• No alcohol consumption/open containers will be permitted in garages or in parking lots of any business
• No loitering allowed in parking lots or at convenience stores
• No parking of trailers or other oversized vehicles along the street
• Curfew will be enforced from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. for those under the age of 18
• Photo identification is required for hotel check-in for all guests in each room
