The following is a list of Fourth of July activities and events along the Grand Strand:
Star Spangled Banner Celebration
Broadway at the Beach will host the Star Spangled Banner Celebration July 3th - July 5th. The three-day Independence Day celebration will include live entertainment, street performances, a petting zoo, pony rides, and much more. There will be a fireworks display July 4th at 10 p.m.
Pawley’s Island Fourth of July Parade
The annual Fourth of July Parade in Pawley’s Island will begin at Noon July 4th.
Murrells Inlet Boat Parade & Fireworks
The 26th Annual July 4th Boat Parade will take place July 4th at 5 p.m. at the creek along the Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet. The theme of this year’s parade is Freedom Is Fine In 2009. Entry forms for the boat & dock decoration contests are available at Garden City Realty, Captain Dick’s Marina, or Booty’s. Entry into the contest is $5/boat. Boats choosing to not participate in the contests can participate in the parade for free. Fireworks will be shot off over the inlet at 10 p.m.
Surfside Beach Independence Day Celebration
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. July 4th on the pier with Garth Brooks impersonator Steve Fairchild. There will be an inflatable moon bounce & slide for children and free watermelon & ice cream for families. Fireworks will be shot off over the pier at 9:30 p.m.
Fireworks At The Pelicans
Come out and watch the Myrtle Beach Pelicans take on the Salem Red Sox July 4th. The game begins at 7:05 p.m. and the first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive free, mini-flags. Players will wear special red, white, and blue jerseys which will be available for auction during the game. A fireworks display will follow the game.
Ocean Boulevard’s Fourth of July Celebration
Local band Painted Man will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight in Plyler Park July 4th.
North Myrtle Beach Fireworks Display
Enjoy fireworks July 4th at 9:30 p.m. on the Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach.
Barefoot Landing Fireworks
Enjoy fireworks July 4th at Barefoot Landing beginning at 10:15 p.m. Fireworks will be shot off over the lake at Barefoot Landing.
